How to estimate ridge-cap bundles
- Measure each hip and ridge run that will receive ridge-cap shingles, then add the lengths.
- Check the exact product label or current product data for its installed linear-foot coverage per bundle.
- Divide the combined measured length by the selected package coverage and round up to a whole bundle.
GAF's Seal-A-Ridge and Seal-A-Ridge AS product sheet gives approximate coverage for those specific products. Product availability and compatibility vary; verify the exact product, region and installation instructions before ordering.

Formula: whole bundles = ceil(total measured hip/ridge length ÷ coverage per bundle for the selected product). The user-entered coverage must match the exact product package and installation. This is a material estimate, not an installation or roof-system recommendation.
